Hello everyone! Timeboxed notifications are now live for iOS :)
You'll have to update to the latest version (3.32) on the app store but once you do you'll see a new section in Settings called "Notifications". Once enabled, you'll start receiving notifications!
More info here: https://guide.ellieplanner.com/features/notifications
PLEASE let me know if there are any issues/bugs with this 🙏
Timebox notifications to follow on desktop (and mobile web) to follow this week!

Hello hello 👋
Thank you for your patience everyone!
I'm rolling out the first version of notifications starting with reminder notifications for due dates.
UPDATE
Due date notifications have been released! You can read more info about the feature here: https://guide.ellieplanner.com/features/tasks/due-dates#reminder-notifications
This is the first feature that utilizes the new notification functionality I've added to Ellie. If everything goes smoothly with this, I plan on adding notifications to things like timeboxed tasks and calendar events shortly.
Please leave any feedback here!

Hello everyone :)
Thanks for your patience here!
Work is starting to support notifications in general for the app and there are many places that notifications could be useful (notifications about timeboxed tasks, due dates, notifications of calendar events, general notifications to plan your day, etc...)
Would LOVE to hear how people would prioritize these and what is most important

Chris Anything time sensitive I'd say would be great (timeboxed tasks, tasks due, calendar events). Interesting to think about when to notify. Definitely time of but for some tasks I might want reminders/notifs earlier (like for tasks with due dates).

Chris Exciting that this is beginning! Here's my dream notification set up from most to least important (but also least to most impressive). First separate on/off notification options for timeboxed tasks and calendar events. It'd also be great if you could select how early for each task/event, but a global setting (e.g. 5 min early for all) could suffice. It'd be even more incredible if you could custom set the time for early notifications for even non-timeboxed tasks (taking trash cans to the curb every Tue takes me 3 min so I wouldn't timebox it but I'd still love a reminder so I don't forget.) Least important but most exciting would be if you could snooze the notifications and even better if you got multiple snooze options. (Things 3 would allow 10 min, 30 min, 2 hours.) Thanks!

Yes I really need this feature, I am currently running Ellie accompanied by Apple reminders simply because I need to get reminded of my tasks. Having this feature will completely solve the issue I have with Ellie

One thing that I would LOVE is an option for persistent reminders (notifications) about an event or task, similar to TickTick. They keep going off until I am forced to interact with them.

This would make Ellie complete for me.

Once this core feature is implemented it would be almost perfect for most users

Hi Chris, Any idea, when this will be implemented?
Chris
Rob Willemsen:
Hey Rob, unfortunately no concrete ETA right now but I'll be revisiting/re-prioritizing this soon since its gaining traction (there are a few items planned ahead of this one)
Sorry for the semi-vague answer!

Chris: hopefully soon! first day of using ellie and the workflow fits how i move through my tasks PERFECTLY, but i definitely need notifications to give me an alert because my brain absolutely cannot be relied upon to remember tasks and meetings 😂
